A simple Jewish funeral yesterday was accorded Otto H. Kahn, international banker and patron of the arts. Only his family and about 150 of his closest friends in the world of finance, music, the theatre and art heard the service at the late banker’s country estate, which was conducted by Rabbi Samuel H. Goldenson, rabbi of Temple Emanu-El.
Following the service at the home, the body was placed in a vault in the non-sectarian Memorial Cemetery prior to burial in a grave.
The funeral and the burial were in accordance with the reformed Jewish ritual. Mr. Kahn expressed a wish several months before his death that this be done. The noted banker died last Thursday in his office at Kuhn, Loeb & Co., following a heart attack.
