A solution to the question of whether Israel should recognize non-Orthodox conversions performed in the Jewish state will likely be found outside the courts, according to the minister dealing with the issue. “I’m very much against a court solution,” Rabbi Michael Melchior, minister for Israeli society and world Jewish communities, told JTA. The court cut short deliberations on the matter earlier this week.
