A statement issued by the Hungarian State Police to-day denied that the raids made by the police in Northern Hungary had an anti-Jewish purpose. It was learned that the raids were conducted on the instructions issued by the Ministry of Interior. Homes and synagogues were entered in the search for aliens.

The Jewish community of Szerencz submitted a protest to the Ministry of the Interior against the raids, declaring that the police in their course molested the Jewish population and invaded the synagagues during prayer.

A perimt was issued by the Bureau of Building Inspection to Jrwin & Leighton for the construction of the new syngogue building of Rodeph Sholom Congregation. Philadelphia. The cost of the building will be $1,000,000. Simon & Simon are the architects of the new synagogue.
