A sunken vessel found last Friday by a U.S. team is the Dakar submarine, which set sail from Britain more than 30 years ago but never reached Israeli shores, Israeli officials said Saturday. A day later, the commander of the Israeli navy, Maj. Gen. Alex Tal, told the families of the 69 officers and crew who were aboard the submarine that Israel is unlikely to try to raise the wreckage.
