A survey conducted by the Jerusalem Brookdale Institute for Social Research discovered that 45 per cent of Israeli wage-earners would like to change their jobs but do not for fear of losing their pension rights. The results of the survey were cited by Minister for Social Betterment Israel Katz, who is seeking reforms of the general pension law that would allow workers to carry over their pension rights when they change jobs in order to facilitate mobility within the work force. He also wants to extend pensions to the 350,000 Israeli workers presently without a pension plan.
