A synagogue in a suburb of Paris was broken into on Christmas Eve. The burglars broke into the prayer room and the offices of the building in Kremlin-Bicetre, despite the presence of the synagogue’s night watchman. A computer was stolen, but other valuables — Torah scrolls, office equipment, and envelopes containing checks and cash — were left intact: A formal complaint was filed and a police inquiry was opened.
