A task force launched by the umbrella fund-raising and social service organization of the U.S. Jewish community is urging greater national and local support for Jewish day schools. The United Jewish Communities, joined by other Jewish groups, is calling on local federations to provide more money and other forms of assistance for all forms of Jewish education, “with special emphasis on support that helps to ensure day school viability and vitality.”
