A Thousand Years of Jewish History Depicted at Cologne Exhibition

A thousand years of Jewish history in the Rhineland will be depicted at the exhibition which is being arranged by the city of Cologne, illustrating the development of the Rhineland.

There will be exhibits of the legal position of Jews in the Rhineland, showing original charters and documents relating to the status of the Jews, issued by the Kaisers. Archbishops and city authorities. Models of synagogues, Scrolls of the Law, curtains for the Ark of the Law, shields and other articles, models and pictures of Jewish cemeteries and old tombstones will be a part of the exhibit. Industrial art articles such as Sabbath lamps, Chanukah lamps, Seder plates, Hagadahs, Megilloth and Jewish dress in the Middle Ages will be shown. Portraits, autographed letters, documents, illustrating the history of famous Jewish families in the Rhineland and important manuscripts and printed books will be displayed.
