A top aide to the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin is expected to be arraigned on charges of influence peddling while serving as director-general of the Prime Minister’s Office from 1993 to 1995. Meanwhile, a man described as a key witness in the case against Shimon Sheves said he would refuse to testify. The witness, stockbroker Moshe Stern, said he has been Sheves’ friend for 37 years and would not do anything that might harm him. Stern was reportedly promised immunity in return for testifying against Sheves.
