A U.S. cultural institution released a compact disk of music from a group of Ugandan Jews. “Abayudaya: Music From the Jewish People of Uganda,” released by Smithsonian Folkways, features tunes from the Abayudaya community that mixes African rhythms and harmonies with traditional Hebrew chants.
