A U.S. financier arrived in Israel to be considered for governor of Israel’s central bank. “I am happy about the decision to nominate me, and hope I can make good on the expectations and contribute to the Israeli economy,” Stanley Fischer, the vice chairman of Citigroup, tapped as the next governor of the Bank of Israel, told reporters in Hebrew after landing in Tel Aviv last Friday.
