A U.S. House of Representatives resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire in the Middle East has garnered only 24 signatures, all Democrats. The resolution, initiated by Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) and currently in committee, calls on President Bush to “appeal to all sides in the current crisis in the Middle East for an immediate cessation of violence, commit United States diplomats to multi-party negotiations with no preconditions; and send a high-level diplomatic mission to the region to facilitate such multi-party negotiations.”
