A U.S. Senate panel has given Israel two more years to use its loan guarantees. The Senate Appropriations Committee honored an Israeli request last week to extend until fiscal year 2007 the opportunity to take out up to $5.5 billion in loans at a lower rate, guaranteed by the United States.
