A visiting delegation from the American Jewish Committee met last Friday with Greek Prime Minister Costas Simitis and other governmental and church officials in Athens. Discussions were aimed at “enhancing Israel’s relations with Greece,” which have “room for growth,” said the AJCommittee’s executive director, David Harris. Some of the talks focused on getting Athens to change a law that requires people to list their religion on their ID card.
