A World Jewish Congress official who was among the first to warn the world about the Holocaust is publishing his memoirs. In “Never Give Up Hope,” Gerhart Riegner maintains that many of the 6 million Jews killed during the Holocaust could have been saved had the United States and Britain acted when he dispatched the “Riegner cable” in August 1942.
