A recommendation of the educational committee that one of the Jewish institutions of higher learning in this country should furnish correspondence courses in Jewish history and religious subjects to the members of the Aleph Zadek Aleph, junior B’nai B’rith order, was adopted by the Aleph Zadek Aleph’s seventh international convention here today. The educational committee’s recommendation of four A.Z.A. Sabbaths a year instead of one as now was also approved.
Richard Gutstadt, executive director of the Pacific Coast regional B’nai B’rith, made the keynote address in which he pointed out that the A.Z.A. members by service to their chapters must prove their worth to join the B’nai B’rith lodges. He also urged them to aid in enlisting boys in the campaign against defamation.
A permanent organization of a Pacific Coast A.Z.A. conference was effected embracing fifteen chapters and 500 members.
