The Russian-Jewish writer Aaron Vergelis, editor of the Moscow Yiddish magazine, “Sovietish Heimland,” will visit Australia shortly, according to Tony Rubinstein, managing director of the Australian Jewish News. Mr. Rubinstein said that Mr. Vergelis told him he wanted to visit Australia when they met in Moscow recently. The Soviet Government announced last week that Mr. Vergelis had been awarded the “Badge of Merit” for his contributions to Soviet literature.
