The Palestine Court of Appeals today reduced the sentence of Aba Achimeier, convicted of leading an alleged secret terrorist organization, Brith Habiryonim, from twenty-one to eighteen months.
The term of Chaim Divri, a codefendant, was reduced from eighteen to fifteen months.
Others serving sentences on the same charge are Dr. B. Yevin, Moshe Sabri. Jacob Ornstein and Joshua Lichter. Joseph Katzenelson was acquitted by the court in a decision handed down June 19.
Achimeier was accused with Abraham Stavsky and Zvi Rosenblatt of having killed Chaim Arlosoroff, Zionist labor leader. He was charged with being the intellectual leader of the plot, but was freed in the early stages of the trial. He was immediately rearrested and charged with the leadership of the Brith Habiryonim.
