About 100 new immigrants are spending this week in volunteer work in the northern settlements, a project organized by the World Zionist Organization’s immigration and absorption department. A group of 50 new immigrants from absorption centers in Jerusalem and Lod are helping out in settlements in Galilee. The others, from Ashdod and Rehovot, went to settlements on the Golan Heights. A group of students at the ulpan in Kibbutz Mayan Zvi will begin volunteer projects next week packing food parcels for Israeli soldiers in Lebanon.
