Informed sources said last night that about half of the active fighting men of the Palestinian terrorist groups in Jordan were killed or wounded in last September’s civil war. The sources put terrorist strength just before the civil war at about 8000 fighting men plus several thousand administrative, logistics and fund-raising personnel. Border police who went into action in Gaza this week shot and wounded two local Arabs who tried to escape when ordered to halt, it was reported today.
