Proceedings were instituted against Robert Stricker, editor of the “Neue Welt” for an article by him protesting against the sentence of Philip Halsmann to four years imprisonment on the charge of patricide. The feeling that the sentence was influenced by anti-Jewish prejudice on the part of the Innsbruck jury is being openly expressed in the Jewish and general press.

Under an old Australian law. Stricker would be liable to one year imprisonment at hard labor and deportation.
