Acute Flour Shortage in Palestine; Reserves Depleted, Imports Barred

The public became aware today of an acute nation-wide shortage of flour, brought on by depletion of reserves and export curbs by Syria and Transjordan.

The Jewish Chamber of Commerce revealed the shortage in an appeal to the Palestine Government to withdraw an order prohibiting import of flour from abroad, enacted to aid Arab peasants in Palestine.
