West German Chancellor Dr. Konrad Adenauer “sharply condemns anti-Semitic tendencies and will take all constitutional and political steps within his power against nationalist and anti-Jewish aberrations,” an official in the Federal Chancellery has written to the Coordinating Council of the Societies for Christian-Jewish Cooperation in Germany.
The official, Dr. von Cramer, made the statement in acknowledging receipt of a resolution, adopted last month at Seeheim, near Frankfurt, by the executive secretaries of the 20 Christian-Jewish Societies in Germany. The resolution had expressed profound concern at “the increasing frequency of nationalistic incidents and of the scandal of anti-Semitism.”
