Chancellor Konrad Adenauer today evaded a question on the extent of anti-Semitism still prevailing in Germany.
The Chancellor, receiving a group of American newsmen touring West Germany was asked by one of them, “What about anti-Semitism?” Turning to a member of his government, Secretary of State Hallstein, the Chancellor queried: “Is he (the reporter) thinking about us here or about Los Angeles?”
