ADL Proposes Measures to Strengthen New York State Anti-discrimination Agency

An official of the B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation League submitted a six point program here to strengthen the New York State Commission for Human Rights and make it the most effective unit of its kind in the nation. David A. Schulte. chairman of the ADL’s New York Board, in a statement before the Governor’s Committee to Review New York Laws and Procedures in the Area of Human Rights, said that valid criticism that the present commission has “not acted vigorously…to carry out the public policy against discrimination” called for consideration of measures to remedy the situation.
