The Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith has agreed to act as a consultant to the Bell Telephone System, to aid that firm in seeking out Jewish candidates for executive and managerial positions.
Banjamin R. Epstein, national ADL director, who announced the project, said that the effort was aimed at the “under utilization of Jews” on the Bell System’s executive and managerial levels. He said the ADL would help the Bell System implement its merit employment policy by educating its recruitment staff to the “vast potential available among Jewish college students.” He said that the company had taken “an important step forward” to alter the conception that industries’ doors are closed to Jews.
