Adolfo Bloch, president of the Bloch Publishing Co, here, was last week awarded the title of Jewish Community Man, 1976, by the Hillel Lodge of B’nai B’rith in Sao Paulo. The award ceremony was attended by more than 800 persons, including the representatives of the Governor of Sao Paulo State and of the Sao Paulo mayor. Also attending was Mrs. Sarah Kubitschek, widow of the late President Kubitschek. Bloch has been directing a strong campaign, particularly in “Manchete,” a large illustrated weekly he owns, against the vote at the UN General Assembly in November 1975 equating Zionists with faction, and similar defecations of Israel.
