Adolph Held, national chairman of the Jewish Labor Committee, now here on his second visit to Israel, was the guest yesterday of Histadrut Central Council. The Council meeting, which discussed various current topics, also heard addresses of welcome for Mr. Held from Yitzhak Haskin and Mordecai Namir.

Earlier, Mr. Held was a guest at a reception at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he was presented with a special copy of the new edition of the Bible. Speakers at the reception included Speaker of the Knesset Yosef Sprinzak and Minister of Education Ben Zion Dinur, both of whom paid tribute to the American labor leader. He was also a guest of Minister Defense David Ben Gurion for a long discussion at Sdeh Boker, and was received by Beersheba’s Mayor David Tuviahu.
