Adult Jewish education is vitally needed in this country, it was stressed last night at the opening session of the 27th annual convention of the National Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs which is being held at the Grossinger Hotel here. More than 900 delegates from all parts of the country are attending the convention.
Addressing the session, Rabbi Jerome Lipnick, of Utica, N.Y., said: “The synagogue can be a powerful agency to create the renascence for adult education in America. So much of our concern today is for child education. The millions of dollars we spend for the education of our children must be matched by the millions of dollars for the education of the parents. Jewish life has always been adult education centered. In order to maintain Jewish life and witness the growth of the influence of Judaism in the moulding of America and the world we must redouble our efforts to develop well-conceived, well-financed and well-staffed adult education programs.
