Rabbi Dienemann of Offenbach was transferred to the Osthofen concentration camp today by the political police. Rabbi Dienemann was arrested last Sunday for having described in his sermon the atrocities perpetrated in Biblical times and saying “to Jews it is the same thing whether the atrocities are committed by a French general or by the German police.”
In view of the fact that Rabbi Dienemann is sixty-two years old, local Jewish leaders are making strenuous efforts to have the authorities release the rabbi. Jewish leaders declare that the police officer present at the sermon misunderstood Rabbi Dienemann’s remarks.
