Two hundred and eighty aged Jews and Jewesses, who were transferred last week to a provincial home for the aged on the decision of the Warsaw municipality, today addressed a pathetic appeal to the Polish rabbinate to save them from the terrible conditions in the new home.
The aged people begged for medical attention, which is completely lacking at the home, they said. They described its sanitary conditions. One aged woman was taken ill and died while she was being taken to a neighboring village to be examined by a doctor.
