The Jewish Agency announced today that 800 of the 1,000 certificates recently granted for Jewish immigration into Palestine for the three-month period ending Sept. 30, will be sent to Polish refugees from Russia who are now in Teheran. Of these, 700 will be used to bring in children. The other 200 certificates assigned to the Agency will be allocated to Jews in Egypt, Yemen and elsewhere, it was said.
The Agency also announced today that the Polish Government has agreed to provide four pounds monthly towards support of destitute children among the 700 from Teheran who will enter under the immigration schedule. Meanwhile, a corps of social workers and nurses has been sent from here to Teheran to take care of the children and organize their journey to Palestine.
