The administrative committee of the Jewish Agency for Palestine today made public a resolution stating that “timely, decisive action” by the Palestine administration at the time the disorders broke out might have prevented “much useless bloodshed of British, Jews and Arabs.”
The resolution, acknowledging that the administration took protective measures, at the same time voices regret that it “failed to maintain public order.”
Urging the Government to adopt measures for the immediate restoration of peace, the resolution emphasizes that indecision and delay only encourage the terrorists.
Tribute is paid in the resolution to the British troops, but Jews, it declares, claim for themselves the right to defend themselves.
The resolution, referring to the recently dissipated fear of immigration suspension, declares such action would endanger the Mandate.
