Agreement on to Prevent Infiltration of Arabs Reached by Israel and Jordan

Israel and Jordan authorities have reached an agreement on “practical measures” designed to prevent the infiltration of Arabs into Israel as well as the theft of Israel cattle by Arabs who cross the Jordan-Israel frontier illegally, it was reported today. Under the agreement thieves making their way back to Jordan territory will be apprehended with the assistance of Jordan officials.

Several Arabs were wounded in an exchange of fire with Israel police near Petach Tikvah, it was disclosed today. The Arabs, for the second time this week, penetrated the Tel Aviv suburb of Ramat Gan and stole three horses from a farmer who has been repeatedly robbed in recent weeks.

Two Arab notables who were implicated in the murder of Eliezer Weiss, a Jewish settler of Rishpon, in November, 1948, were acquitted today by the Tel Aviv district court for lack of evidence. The Arabs, from the village of Tirah, are Sheikh Nagger and Hassan Abdullah Mansur.
