Louis Lipsky announced today the withdrawal of his resignation as chairman of the American Zionist Council. Official assurances were given by the seven Zionist national groups affiliated with the Council–and by the American section of the Jewish Agency–of their intentions to strengthen and support the authority and program of the Council. The following resolutions were unanimously agreed to:

1. All Zionist national groups associated in the American Zionist Council declare that it is their intention to strengthen and support the authority and program of the Council as a common agency of public relations work in the United States, and as their authorized instrument, to promote cooperation and good will among the associated groups.

2. They note that the American section of the Jewish Agency recognizes and confirms the status and functions of the Council and they recommend that the executive of the Council appoint a committee to discuss the possibility of further enlarging the program of the Council to include new fields of work of common interest.

Mr. Lipsky said that the misunderstandings that had arisen have been cleared up and effective cooperation has been assured. “The Council, representing the whole American Zionist front, has an important educational task to do in creating good will for the state of Israel, which it will now be able to pursue in an atmosphere of harmony and mutual understanding,” Mr. Lipsky stated.
