Aid to the victims of the earthquake in the Crimea where the Jewish colonies were unaffected was approved by the Agro-joint, the agency of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee in charge of the colonization work in Russia.
The Agro-joint sent the amount of 5,000 roubles for the relief work. The sum of 500 roubles was sent by the Ozet, the society for settling Jews on the land.
The aid of Jewish organizations for the Crimea earthquake victims was praised in the Crimean press as an expression of Jewish humanitarian work without regard to race or creed.
