A numerical strength of 7,000 votes for the demand of the Agudath Israel, the Orthodox Jewish world organization, for the creation of separate Orthodox communities in Palestine was claimed by the executive committee of the organization in a statement issued here.
The executive claims that up to the present 7,000 votes, representing 35,000 persons, were registered in Palestine under a petition urging the full recognition of independent Orthodox communities.
This demand is opposed by the Vaad Leumi, the national council of Palestine Jews, and the Zionist Organization.
