Grave anxiety over the Israel Government’s economic policies was voiced here last night at the opening session of a national conference of the Orthodox Agudas Israel Organization.
Rabbi A. Abramovich, general secretary of the organization, who opened the meeting, announced that a national convention of the Agudas Israel will take place in Jerusalem next week. He charged that the government’s economic programs were “threatening the existence of the middle classes.”
Jacob Rosenheim, world leader of the Agudah, urged “immediate union” of all dissenting factions in the organization and called on them to accept the central rule of the world organization.
