New steps to bring about a reconciliation between the ultra-Orthodox Agudath Israel and the Zionist Organization in Palestine are under way.
The attempt at reconciliation was started this time on the initiative of the Agudah. Negotiations are now in progress between this organization and the Communal Council of Jerusalem Jews, concerning the possibility of a compromise between the two sections with regard to the provisions of the Palestine Communities Ordinance.
It was learned that a memorandum on the subject was directed by the Agudath Israel to the forthcoming session of the Permanent Mandates Commission of the League of Nations.
