An appeal to all sections of the Palestine Jewish community to unite to defend Jewish rights in Palestine was issued here yesterday at the conclusion of the three-day conference of the Agudas Israel, extreme orthodox organization. The conference also urged Jewish-Arab peace and an honest solution of the Jewish-Arab problem “without affecting Jewish rights granted by the Mandate.”
Other resolutions adopted by the 180 delegates from all parts of the country demanded abrogation of the White Paper; absolute fulfillment of the Mandate “which is also the best guarantee of Arab rights,” and assurances that the Toran will be the basis of the constitution of any future Palestine regime.
Resolutions dealing with internal affairs of the organization urged establishment of Agudah agricultural settlements, publication of its own daily newspaper and establishment of special educational institutions for boys and girls “in the spirit of the Torah.”
