A call to Orthodox Jews in the United States to “militant action to ward off the inroads which assimilations tendencies are making in Jewish life” was heard at the opening session tonight of the three-day National Convention of Agudath Israel of America, from the keynote speaker, Rabbi Elija M. Bloch of Cleveland.
Rabbi Bloch lauded the stand which the Agudath Israel in Israel adopted in rejecting every offer to return to the Israel coalition Cabinet until the Cabinet complies with “the minimum religious demands” of Agudath Israel concerning religious education and women’s conscription.
