–The Permanent Mandates Commission of the League of Nations, which will open its session here tomorrow, was requested by cablegram despatched by the Orthodox world organization. Agudath Israel, to take off the Commission’s agenda the discussion on the organization’s petition setting forth its objections to the Palestine Communities Ordinance.
The minutes of the Commission’s last session held in June reproduce the remarks made by the representative of the British government in comment upon the memorandum submitted by the Zionist Organization concerning ## land question in Palestine. The government of Palestine, the British representative declared, is endeavoring to arrive at some satisfactory arrangement with the Arab inhabitants who ## recard with considerable suspicion the actions of the Palestine government on matters pertaining to the posession of state lands. It is the first duty of the Palestine government to discharge its obligations with essential caution for peaceful order without which the Jewish National Home cannot be established on a sure foundation, the representative stated.
With reference to the claims on the Beisan land, an investigating commision is making satisfactory progress. Attention is also being given to the possibility of acquiring land from the beneficiaries under the Beisan agreement.
With regard to immigration, the representative explained that the Chief Immigration Officer acts under explicit directions from the High Commissioner, without exercising any arbitrary powers regarding the admission of immigrants and persons of independent means.
