The 29th annual convention of the Agudath Israel of America opened here today with 500 delegates from all parts of the country participating. The convention deliberations are devoted to the strengthening of traditional religious observance in the United States and the problems of religious Jewry in Israel.
President Truman, in a message to the convention, emphasized the importance of “religious guidance,” adding that “while we build our strength for protection against aggression, we must not stop work toward the conditions necessary for a stable, peaceful world.”
