Josef Ahronovitz, 60 years old, founder of the Hapoel Hatzair, labor Zionist youth organization, and a leader of the Histadruth, Palestine Jewish labor federation, died today. He had been in poor physical condition for several years.
Ahronovitz was a founder and, at the time of his death, a director of the Workers’ Bank organized by the Histadruth. He was a member of the Histadruth’s Executive and a member of the central executive committee of the Jewish Labor Party.
