Viscount Samuel, chairman of the Council for German Jewry, leaving today after a Near Eastern tour, promised to discuss immediately on his return to London the possibility of extending the Council’s aid to the Austrian Jews. A delegation of the Association of Austrian Jews in Palestine which saw Lord Samuel represented him as most interested in the plight of Austria’s 200,000 Jews under Hitler and quoted him as expressing the hope that something would be done for them.
