Mahmud Labib, one of the aides of the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, who is now in exile in Egypt, was today expelled from Palestine by the government.
It is understood he was in charge of last night’s raid by an Arab gang on a Tel Aviv cafe, during which four Jews and an Arab were killed. Labib was an active Organizer of Arab military and youth organizations in Palestine.
A terrific explosion at 11 p.m. tonight tore up a section of the track on the main Cairo-Haifa line one mile south of Geza. Repairs were started almost immediately and the line is expected to be clear by tomorrow morning.
