A $100,000 Air Force grant was awarded to Dr. David Finkelstein, associate professor at Yeshivah University’s Graduate School of Science for a three-year experiment in fusion, it was announced this weekend.
A laboratory is being equipped to create a gas which has been broken down into charged particles traveling at speeds close to that of light. It will take two years to build and design capacitators to store and quickly discharge up to one billion kilowatts needed in the experiment.
