Aircraft officials in Munich were reported today to have confirmed that about 60 West German aircraft technicians arrived in Egypt recently to work on President Nasser’s rocket program.
It was reported that the technicians went to Egypt despite American efforts to prevent their departure. The Messerschmidt, Boelkow and Siebel aircraft firms in West Germany reportedly have intensified efforts to prevent technicians from accepting assignments in Egypt. The Egyptian weapons development aid by West Germans has been strongly and repeatedly assailed by the Israel Government and by Jewish and non-Jewish groups.
