Establishment of a central information and placement center for German refugee physicians by the American Jewish Congress was announced yesterday by Dr. Stephen S. Wise, Bernard S. Deutsch and Nathan Dr. Perlman, respectively honorary president, president and vice-president of the Congress.
The information center, one of the projects of the American Jewish Congress Physicians’ division, headed by Dr. Benjamin Jablons, will secure and disseminate information regarding licenses here for Jewish physicians from Germany.
The Congress will, in addition, attempt to place physicians in hospitals and private practice throughout the country and in Central and South America. Funds for the work will be raised by medical circuit lectures.
David Kohan, Brooklyn communal leader, has accepted the chairmanship of the Flatbush Division of the American Jewish Congress, it was announced yesterday by Supreme Court Justice Mitchell May, head of the Brooklyn section.
