Alan Greenspan will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Greenspan, chairman of the Federal Reserve Board since 1987, will retire at the beginning of next year. The White House called Greenspan an “extraordinary leader who has made great contributions to America’s economic growth and prosperity.” He will be honored Nov. 9 with several other recipients at a White House ceremony.
